About the event
Join us at The Lion for a very special evening with Justine Picardie talking about her new book Fashioning the Crown: A Story of Power, Conflict and the Couture.
Justine Picardie is the former Editor in Chief of Harpers Bazaar UK, author of Coco Chanel: the Legend and Life & Miss Dior: A Wartime Story of Courage and Couture. Fashioning the Crown is the story of the House of Windsor told through the sartorial choices of its leading women Queen Mary, the Queen Mother, the Duchess of Windsor and Queen Elizabeth II. Picardie explores the family feuds and international conflict that challenged the Crown, and how royal fashion has long been wielded as a weapon.
'Magnificent...A book that is tart, racy and compulsively readable. The pictures, as you might expect, are gorgeous' The Times
